We transfer to the Rushaga Gorilla Trekking Headquarters for registration and briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority guides and park rangers. During the briefing, we learn about gorilla trekking rules, safety guidelines, and what to expect during the habituation experience.

We then begin our journey into the ancient rainforest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world’s most important habitats for mountain gorillas.

The trek takes us through dense rainforest trails as we search for a semi-habituated gorilla family. Once we locate the gorillas, we will spend up to four unforgettable hours observing them in their natural environment.

Unlike standard gorilla trekking, the habituation experience provides a deeper opportunity to understand these incredible creatures. We will witness their daily behaviours, feeding habits, social interactions, communication, and family relationships while learning from experienced trackers and conservation specialists.

The experience offers incredible photography opportunities and a rare chance to observe gorillas as they gradually become comfortable with human presence.

After this magical encounter, we return to the lodge for lunch before beginning our journey back to Kigali.
